Vocational Training Overview:

With the construction of a school in a village come unavoidable impacts which need to be addressed. Trailblazers work with village, district and commune level chiefs on a community development plan. The plan includes several sustainable projects. Those that offer potable water through pumps wells to address water access for irrigation and food production, and bio-sand water filters to address health and sanitation. And those that provide employment opportunities and commerce: such as a school supply stall; a school lunch stall; sewing shops; well drilling/maintenance shop; and fish farms.

Chief Suy Kin

Chief Suy Kin is taking the role of community steward of the bio-sand filter project in Phreakochas/Sras village. He has been instructed on proper set-up, maintenance and water sanitation education. He then passes this knowledge on to village residents who are using the water filters. It is exciting to see this technology successfully spreading out to the rural areas with the greatest need.
