As funding is acquired Trailblazer works to construct cement ring pit wells which also allow for irrigation of family gardens. Because of access to water through pump wells and pit wells families can have successful gardens supplanting their diets and offering an avenue for economic growth.
April 2008, Trailblazer Foundation contributed 50% of the funding required to purchase and establish a community garden on a plot of land next to the Sras Village School.
The village selected 24 families experienced in gardening as the pilot group to begin this project. A variety of vegetable seeds, purchased from Seeds Incorporated, were distributed along with planting instructions translated into Khmer.
